The House

Two workshops. One hundred and sixty hands.

Linea di Biella was founded in 2003 with a single idea: that the finest made-to-measure should be available to brands and tailors who could never build an atelier of their own. We became the workshop behind their names.

The story so far

Twenty years behind other people’s names.

2003

The first workshop

A cutting table and a handful of tailors, making made-to-measure for private clients — one commission at a time.

2008

Made-to-measure goes online

Among the first ateliers to take commissions and measurements over the internet. Clients no longer needed to live near the workshop — the workshop came to them.

2011

The second atelier

Capacity doubles, and the model takes its present shape: cutting under other people’s labels instead of our own.

2016

The Biella network

Years of mill relationships are formalised into a certified roster — today 33 houses, from Vitale Barberis Canonico to Reda.

2021

One hundred and sixty hands

The bench reaches 160 tailors across two ateliers, with a remake rate held under one percent.

Today

50,000 garments a year

Suits, jackets and overcoats shipped under our partners’ labels to boutiques, tailors and brands worldwide.

Cut, fused, basted, finished — by hand.

No part of a Linea di Biella jacket is rushed through a press. Canvas is floated, not glued. Lapels are pad-stitched by hand. The result is a garment that moves with the body and holds its line for years — the quiet difference clients feel before they can name it.

Inside the make

Woven in Biella.

Every cloth begins in the mills of Biella, the wool capital of the Italian Alps. We work with 33 certified mills — Vitale Barberis Canonico, Ermenegildo Zegna, Loro Piana and more — so the fabric story behind your label is as serious as the tailoring.
