For brands, boutiques & tailors

A Suitsupply alternative you can put your own label on.

You can’t private-label a retail brand. The alternative for a shop that wants that tier of made-to-measure — canvassed construction, named Italian cloth, true measured fit — under its own name is a white-label atelier. Linea di Biella has been the workshop behind other people’s labels since 2003.

Can you private-label Suitsupply? No — here’s the alternative.

Suitsupply is a vertically integrated retailer: it makes and sells under its own name and does not white-label for other shops. So a boutique that wants suiting at that level under its own label needs a different kind of partner — a white-label atelier that produces the garment while the shop keeps the client, the name and the margin. The choice between such partners comes down to construction, cloth, minimum order and whose label goes inside.

The routes, compared

Four ways a shop can stock suits at this tier.

RouteExampleWhose labelMinimumClothYour margin
Buy & resell a retail brand Suitsupply, etc. Their name inside Wholesale terms, if offered Their house cloth Thin reseller margin
White-label atelier Linea di Biella Your name inside From 1 garment Named Biella mills Your full margin

What the tier actually means

Four things to check before you call anything “that quality.”

01

Construction

Half- and full-canvas tailoring with a floating chest piece — not glued/fused. We finish by hand where it shows: lapels, collar, buttonholes.

02

The cloth

The same Italian mills the category is known for. We cut from 33 certified Biella and Italian houses — Vitale Barberis Canonico, Zegna, Loro Piana, Reda — named on request.

03

The fit

True made-to-measure from a client’s own measurements, not a graded retail size. Remake rate under 1% against a 6–9% category average.

04

Whose label

The one thing retail can’t give you: the garment carries your name, your packaging — never ours. You keep the client and the margin.

The workshop behind the label, not the brand on it.

Founded in 2003 and online with made-to-measure since 2008, Linea di Biella runs two ateliers, 160 tailors and a network of 33 certified Biella and Italian mills. Over 1,000,000 garments have shipped under our partners’ labels — from a single garment, on a 21-day cycle, with a remake rate under one percent.

Suitsupply alternative FAQ

What shops ask before they launch their own line.

Can you private-label or white-label Suitsupply?

No. Suitsupply is a vertically integrated retailer that designs, produces and sells under its own name; it does not offer white-label or private-label manufacturing to other shops. If you want suiting at that tier carrying your own label, you work with a white-label atelier or manufacturer instead. Linea di Biella is one — we make hand-finished made-to-measure suiting that you sell as your own brand.

What is a good Suitsupply alternative for a boutique that wants its own label?

A white-label made-to-measure atelier. Rather than reselling another brand’s suits, the boutique measures and styles the client while the atelier produces the garment under the boutique’s name. Linea di Biella works this way: Biella-wool tailoring from a single garment, a fixed 21-day production cycle, and your label inside every suit.

How do private-label suits compare to Suitsupply on quality?

Like-for-like depends on construction and cloth, not the name on the label. Ask any supplier the same questions: is it canvassed or fused, which mill wove the cloth, and is the fit graded or truly made-to-measure? Linea di Biella builds half- and full-canvas suits in named Italian mill cloth, made to each client’s measurements — the specification a serious shop compares against any retail benchmark.

Is there a minimum order, unlike buying wholesale from a brand?

No minimum. Reselling a retail brand usually means wholesale commitments or none at all; a cut-and-sew factory means a high MOQ. Linea di Biella produces from one garment, so a boutique can sell a single made-to-measure suit under its own label before committing to anything larger.

Can a shop offer made-to-measure like a big retail brand without its own workshop?

Yes. Through a white-label partnership the shop handles the client, the measuring and the styling, while the atelier handles all production — no tailoring staff, no cloth inventory and no workshop required. See our Boutique & Stockist Program.
